Introduction by Robin Hearnshaw (née Raab)
Recently, I recovered a box of my father's personal belongings.
Amongst the many things I had never seen before, I found some
memoirs my mother had written about her childhood. It was
an incredible find - priceless. It could have easily been
thrown away and its contents lost for ever.
Initially, I felt an urgency to collect, preserve and restore everything I had. Then I thought: "How nice it would be to share my treasures with the family and perhaps have others contribute to it."
My plan for this web site is to preserve our family history for us, and future generations.
It will be comprised of photographs, documents, memories and anecdotes.
This web site (which is an ongoing project), will be my labour of love, with my husband Alan doing most of the labouring!
He built this site, will continue to do so and is spending endless hours working on the photographs (before and after examples below).
Yes, there are more to come.

Not to know what occurred before we were born is to remain perpetually a child.

So, for the time being, I would like to thank the following:
- Alan Hearnshaw
- Herbert Lee for his historic research and documents from
his Romanian trip
- Herbert Diamond for his family tree and continuous help
and support.
- My brother Steven Raab for his help providing and identifying
photographs and some lovely anecdotes.
- Dale Spindel for sharing her memories.
- Edith Spindel for her recollections, photographs and help
with identification.
- Jane Diamond for her photos
- Maxine Kosofsky for her photos
I hope there will be many others to thank.
I need your help to make this web site a success.
Please help us by providing copies of anything you may think is relevant.
